[August 30 08] - Freeze issues [fixed]

Looking into this right now. I've submitted a ticket to the data center to have a look and see if anything is bogging down. They may need to reboot a switch or something.

Edit @ 8:02PM ET:

May not be network issues, rebooting VM...

I will be doing a shard VM reboot at SW to see if it solves the issue, it looks like it may not be network related.

I have shut down the VM that powers the shard, I am preparing a vmdk defrag. I will update this thread with more progress. This will hopefully not take too long.

vmdk defrag option greyed out, no idea why, but doing windows defrag now, basically same thing... Going to contact vmware support on this one though.

12% this is taking longer then I figured. Startup up shard anyway, not like its constantly writing to disk so should be ok. Done it this way before.

ETA about 2 minutes

Shard is back up! I will post when the defrag is over. It may possibly be a bit laggy at this point.

I think I've just isolated the issue to being DNS related. This also explains why "verifying account" takes longer then other times, at random. Whenever it loads the shard list it does a DNS lookup on each shard (so, two) this is not really required as I can just have it do the DNS lookup on connect instead... I will modify the code so it does not take so long. This should solve the issue. For now I will add a host file entry so it resolves faster.

Working on this issue. It seems to be some weird routing issue in the VM setup again. Something is acting fishy. Looking into it atm. There's a possibility of getting temporary connection issues.

Haha yeah like making sure to keep people updated on situations. :P

Though I should probably just open a ticket for these type of things then link directly to it. :P
