Jaelon's Journal: August 22nd

I have spent the last few days wandering around Britain and performing various minor heals whenever necessary. The Sosarian Standard had followed the story of Jacob as he sailed to the serpent pillar south of Skara Brae. I decided that while he was away, I would try and brush up on some healing skills, as it was unlikely I would find him at his house while he was in the middle of the ocean. I did, however, stop by once or twice to toss some grain to his sheep.
But today I saw in the Standard the story of Jacob's furious battle near the serpent pillar and the saddening actions he had to take against his friend Mordak. I decided I would quickly make my way to Skara Brae where Mordak was being tended to and see if my brethren could use my help in his healing.
Oddly, however, I found no evidence of Mordak and Jacob being in Skara Brae. I assume that he has been transferred to another location. The good news is that Jacob is back on the mainland and I may be able to find him at his house to offer my healing services to the cause. I'd also like to speak with him about tending to Zurol's remains and organizing a memorial service for his burial.
Upon re-investigation of the Healer's in Skara Brae, I discovered that I had not looked in every room. I stepped through a door that I had somehow missed earlier and was met with a rancid stench. Towards the end of the room I saw a group of my colleagues gathered around a bed. On top of the bed was a body, missing one arm, with skin stained almost black. I automatically knew this was Mordak. I questioned the nearby healers and they mentioned that he mumbles every so often about immense pain and infection. They are doing all they can to keep him alive at the moment. I will scour the libraries of the land in search for cures to a blackrock infection. I can only hope that one truly exists.
