Granite Quests

I got this idea from jrhather, or at least something he said spawned the idea in my head. It would work just like the current bod quests.
For instance, you would go to the Gargoyle Stonemason in Ilshenar and accept a quest for such and such amount of granite in a certain color. You'd supply that granite, and you would recieve an award.
One thing that I think could be a deterrent would be the requirement to prove the quality. Such as....if you supply the gargoyle with 20 bronze granite, it would be almost unfair to require the player to then create a number of large stone tables to prove the granite quality. If that was the system, it could likely take months to finish a single quest due to the time and luck involved in digging up that much granite.
But I think the idea itself is sound. And I thank jrhather for inspiring the idea. In regards to rewards...there could be a number of things. Such as:
-Stone decorations unobtainable by any other means such as boulders and the various rock designs found in the woods.
-Special granite with the hues of the Tokuno dyes (Or any other hues that would be more appropriate). They would work the same as normal granite, but when crafted, would take the hue of the reward granite.
-Tools that would have a higher chance to dig up granite.
-And, of course, various wearable items. Nothing that is too uber, but things that would be useful to a newer player or something that could round out a good suit. Things like stone shields, weapons, etc. On a different note, these things could be uber, one-use items. Such as a "stone dagger" that will deal a fixed amount of damage to any creature but after that one strike it would crumble into nothingness.
Just an idea. It may help to spur some trade in stone items, as that market is remarkably low due to the smaller player-base and the time and difficulty in obtaining and crafting stone items. Hell, Hector's old museum that used all stone tables was a rarity in itself due to all the shadow granite needed to craft that many tables with the failure chance added into the equation.
Everyone please post what you think. I myself think this could be a good idea...but I am only one player.
Thank You,
