Hmm probably something to do with the veins or race benefits. Are you human or elf?

You know... I played a server once where when you mined you got 1 val, 2 verite, 3 aggy, 4 gold, 5 bronze, 6 copper, 7 shadow, 8 dull copper and 10 iron from each 8x8 grid. 46 ore per spot is fun, cuts down on the time to mine and is hilarious when using a garg pick because of the chance to spawn any elly from each vein

I doubt we'll ever see this, or that you'd even consider it. But it's worth mentioning.

Interesting idea but wouldn't really work as ore veins are different and are affected by race.

Actually I need to relook at how resources are setup as when I redid the veins to reflect the randomization changes of OSI I probably broke the prospector tools, though those are broken in general in RunUO. I read a while back that they actually bump the ore level so that would be something to add too.

Back when I was a lowly soul forced to mine to get my ingots a few months ago the Prospector tools worked fine, they would upgrade one level of any vein you used them on.

Best way to use them was to take a miner around with Garg picks, a sturdy shovel, and 2-3 Propector tools.

Just use you sturdy shovel to find a good vein, say a Copper vein. Hit it with the Prospector tool, then use the Garg picks and you would pop gold eles all day (I've gotten as many as six on one vein). I think the elementals get more bad at you if you slaughter them while continueing to mine (Razor Loops ftw) because if you did it seemed to pop more eles.

But its been a long time since I mined here so it could have changed if you messed with the codes involved at all.

I agree with that. I think continuing to mine seems to give you more eles. While hitting a valorite vein once on a different shard, red spawned 8 of them.
