Proposed artifact changes

Ok this is what I'm planning to do to fix the overpowered weapons but first I want everyone's input as I will make this affect existing ones as well and I don't want to make anyone mad for having their weapons nerfed. I will post the existing mods, then the proposed changes, with *'s to indicate the changed properties.

30% hit spell total, odds of all 3 hitting are there, but low. SSI also lowered. Keeping in mind this is a greater, it still has lot of potential, specially with focus attack.

The void's changes can potentially be more damaging. I think the high SSI will make up for the 10% loss in hit lightning, but we'll see how it turns out.

Yeah that was is tricky, since it is a rare enough artifact. Basically it's like a super dryad without the DI, but with lightning, so it should be ok, but I'll have to test it.

It IS a greater AoA. 25% sounded good to me. Reduce SSI, maybe. Remember, it has no DI. Not to mention, look how many Deathspell macers there are. Most of the people on this shard use a Void or Apoco. Personally, I use neither. I <3 my Horselord.

Actually what I could do is make one of the hit spells higher intensity.

25% hit spell? Isn't that kinda low? I would expect at least 40% and 12 sdi from a greater AoA, especially if it has -10 DI.

-10 DI is something in the lines of 1-1 damage, not that big of a difference.

keep in mind there are 3 hit spells. So that's a total of 30% chance of a spell to hit, with the chance of multiple, perhaps all 3, hitting at once. And as it is somewhat of a mage/necro mage wep, the combos used could be rather deadly.

Can I request at least a change to 15 or 20? 15 means a "45%" chance at hit spell. I can get more than that with a Void. 20 makes it a 60% hit chance, which combats the spell hit chance of The Void. However, makign it 100 would make it overpowered. I'm just saying, this IS a greater, and shouldn't be nerfed to the point where I can go to Walmart-Vorpals-R-Us and get a better one.

I agree with the thing that things should not be nerfed too much, but keep in mind that this wep is sc, meaning most people using it will also use additional thing to make dmg (most likely magery) With void, only thing you can rely to make dmg is the bow itself.

personally i think thats kinda low. its a artifact, and u can get a bow better then that from a vorpal with 30 ssi 50 di and 50 hit spell... rare as hell ya but it can happen.. my opinion is that it should be higher because its a artifact.

other then that i think its perfect :D... exspecially claw that was a bit to over powerful

Bow of Insanity = sucky
JWBow = sucky
Frostbringer = sucky
bow of the juka king = sucky

In other hand, with the right template all of those can be pretty devastating.

Iam telling you, some of these new aoa's are totaly fucked up when comparating to old ones.

And nose, how many of these bows have you tested in action on valor?

Most of the stuff I test on a full 70 char and as long as shots are below 20 damage it usually is considered ok, but sometimes theres things overlooked. I try my best. Changing stuff midway is not fun to do.

Nah thats fine, thats why I'm proposing the changes in advance. I can lower the hit spells. Come to think of it rule of thumb with hit spells is to make sure all of them added up is not too close to 100. MA on a bow is actually a bad idea anyway (breaks para blow) so I simply removed it alltogether and set the hit spell to 50.

Ok these are going in at SW. Then I'll globally change them.

Next project is the artifact roulette for the gaunt casino. Drag and drop stuff on it and hope for the best. :P

Edit: ok the changes were made and are final. If you own one of these and the properties are off, just page and I can replace it with a new one.
