The company we are with had one of their data centers explode, well, part of it.

We're apparently not in that DC or the shard would be down atm. :P

I hope they'll have pics, I want to see how bad the damage was. It took out 3 walls, so guessing it was quite a massive explosion.

Remember kids, playing with electricity is bad. (not that it ever stopped me from doing it as a kid)

my roommates dad made an electric chair when he was a kid, they used to put their cousins in it and plug it into the wall.

You should see the electrical plugs for our bladeserver. When we first bought it, facilities just stared at them because they never saw anything that big. Dual 220 volt, 60 Amps EACH.

Haha, I bet a paper clip would be instantly vaporized and all the hair and eyelashes on everyone's head standing within 3 meters would be gone.

Ouch I heard of this happening in a large telco in Toronto. Toronto happens to be a large hub for telecom and it was all down... SO many affected customers and critical stuff, quite scary. Basically the building itself blew up from the large magnetic field, ripping cables right out of concrete walls. I should google this could probably find an article (and pics :D) of it.

For those interested, some pics, nothing much, just the outside (don't see any damage, just generators)

I'm hoping someone took pics of the inside, I'd be curious to see how bad it was.
