Haha yeah I find shards that have too many ubber stuff and unlimited skills etc get boring fast. Here if you want you can do that stuff on TC1 to mess around but at least production shard is still normal UO with only some custom stuff.

I still think some custom stuff is too uber imo. Mind you, the AI is also uber.

Yeah been slowly trying to tone stuff down, it was MUCH worse at the start. Right now its mostly the thing of regulating how often items get in the game. Stuff was too easy to get back in the day and some still is.

T2A Felucca has always been that way. Normally you can't recall inside of felucca T2A. The runebook in malas is an exception for quick dungeon access however, normally players cannot mark there (The rune in that book is a GM created rune. Much like ilshenar runes).

The reason you cannot recall/gate in and out of T2A felucca is due to the fact that there are several champion spawns there and during a raid, powerscroll holders could easily recall away, ruining the pvp. All champion spots that produce powerscrolls prevent players from recalling.

yeah, you should have seen some of the stuff that dropped back in the day. IIRC, the Humus Claw used to have 100 fireball and 100 magic arrow or somn silly like that. Angel legs used to be uber. I think the void used to be 100 hit lightning. Hector and I had suits with max dex and 170+ hp. I think I had the only Blackthorn Blade ever; 50 harm, 50 lightning, sc +1fc katana.

You also missed out on the Grim Strike being way overpowered. Id had the only one on the server and we would sit on the roof at COTD and pass it around, there was no time limit between uses. It was like a big red bong, double-click and pass. The best one was the Sanders spawn. Lure him to a house and make him spawn a shitload of vorpal chickens. They used to drop aoas back then, so one sanders spawn could be a whole afternoon of fun. 200+ chickens + poison fields + grim strike + wither = a lot of load on the server. You would have a pack full of aoas in no time.

But yeah, the staff is doing a good job of toning stuff down. Some stuff had to get changed.

lol I remember the crystal demon trick where players would lure it into a house where it couldn't do its crystal attack and was easier than coon. Then after that they started luring him to a cave where he couldn't do his crystal attack either (Making him a sitting duck at certain spots because of osi map changes screwing up stuff). That's when I added the tile algorithm to do a super lightning attack if it was even attempted to be lured into the cave. I went on later on and found the daemon in a cave with like, 6 player bones. Sure it was fun when Demitel bosses spawned wild, but then somebody would have lured it to the other end of the map and you'd never find em.

We've come a long way since then to tone stuff down. To think of the days I used to get 20 aoas from champion spawns. They were handing them out like more than tots.

I preferred them wild too. Perhaps they could be spawned on islands or somewhere that they could not be lured too far away. Keep the ones at the dark palace, but make a "Crystal Daemon's Brother" or "Blackhole's Son" spawn in various out of the way places. That might help get ppl into some areas in fel.

Well brunus did create those demitel mirages and they never quite made it into the game (Cause his palaced decayed. He forgot to restrict it lol.) We could easily make that into a kill quest (Where you have to kill 1 of each mirage). The HP would obviously be lower but the damage would be similar.

I remember meleeing him and this massive area near britain was just littered with vorpal chickens. I was standing there dead as a polymorphed chicken when red came by saying "Anyone else lagging?".

when I put down the poison fields, my screen turned green from the hundreds of "a chicken stumbles around in pain" messages. Actually I would use the chickens as defense when I killed him on my archer. They would form a barrier so he could not hit me.

lol yeah that old celly server could not handle area attacks of that magnitude too well. We've come a long way even hardware wise. From a celeron to a dual xeon lol.
