I was looking through this new game's forum. It's an MMORPG called "Age of Conan". One thing that interested me was you actually do MORE damage when you're mounted, running full speed at your target. It makes absolute sense.

I'm not sure if this should be added, but just an idea.

Would be interesting if you could implement some kind of "lancing" bonus when you use a blunt two handed weapon like a spear or lance.

Halberds, spears, pikes and lances are blunt. Depending on the way you use them, they can be piercers.

A dagger can also do slashing and blunt damage, but do we think of it as slashing? We think of it more along the lines of piercing, because that's the design of the blade.

Halberds have a heavy weight on one end of the blade to cause more damage, also the lenght of the pole supplies more momentum, adding slaughter-for-the-swing.

Spears are meant to pierce. Sure, you can hit them with the shaft of the spear, just wouldn't do as much damage. If I see a guy in full plate, and I have a spear, I'm goign to try to find a seam in his armour to pierce. That'd hurt him worse than whacking him with a stick.

Pikes are just a slight modification of the spear, allowing it to stab, then twist/be pulled down to supply a surplus of damage. It's just a modified spear, basically.

Lances were only blunt for competitions. And outside of competitions, they weren't common. The ones made for actual battle had a pointed edge.

Not meaning to be anal, and not saying my opinion is the only one that matters, but that's just my view on the matter.
