Replacement for ConnectUO / UO Gateway

ConnectUO has been down for ages.

Bet we could start a new project like it and it would get off the ground rather quick if done right. Would be fairely easy to do, just that I don't have the time. Basically all it would be is a php/mysql driven system where owners submit their shards, it goes in a SQL database. A server side tool occasionally checks the servers to ensure they're up and keeps track of stats.

The client could be a simple GUI list where when you click, it launches razor with the shard in the address bar. (probably doable through a registry edit).

My question is, is anyone willing to fully take on this project? I'm willing to host and provide a domain name for it, but thats about it. You'd get full credit for it and basiclaly own it, but I'd host it.

People seem to like the shard list idea so I could see this fly if posted on various uo emulator websites. Could bring us publicity as well. :)

Also, october 3 is a key date, if they forget about the domain.

O_o http://whois.domaintools.com/connectuo.com

Though we could probably just call it something else like UoLink or something.

Are you basically wanting a program that launches razor? Lol.

Well the idea would be having the top site list but have the program also load it up, and have an option to pick a shard then have it load razor to play on that shard.

Would not be too hard to make actually. Basically php/mysql driven, with a xml file or something that the program on the pc would download once and a while to update its list.

Then from there add more features like online count graphs and such.

You know, think I know why they took it down completely. So they can get more people to play the official shards. Since theres no reason why a site should be down for more then a few days even after a hardware disaster. There is something fishy about it.

Not that it really matters for us, but from looks of Runuo forums it is affecting the very small shards a lot.

lol they're finally starting to work on it.

Their site has some php errors. Why they do their work on a prod server is beyond me... guess if its already screwed up it's not like it matters. :P

Yeah I never used connectuo/uogateway. They are good for finding a new shard, but once you find a shard to play on, then you just go directly.
