a note on passwords

Please, DO NOT make stupid account names like "a" with password "a". This is why people get hacked, and its a real pita to try and track these things down.
I will be setting password complexity policies, but for now, just don't use such accounts.
If you have any, transfer the stuff to better named accounts and let those accounts decay.
I can sometimes track down stuff and "revert" some damage, but thats not always possible, so do not depend on staff as insurance for getting hacked.
I do want to put in a better password change system as well eventually which will increase security.
And also, NEVER give your password to anyone even if its family. In-household hacks are impossible to detect because the IP will be the same, so if ever that happens, we cannot do a single thing. So be sure you use strong passwords and only you know it!
