There are exterior square step stones, but there arnt any for interior on houses. I cant see a exploit with the use of these interior, and it would allow for some really decorative stair cases. The end caps would be nice to be able to use thiem for interior too.

Ya, that would be a neat idea. Actually think you can get those pieces by cutting pieces out of interior staircases. If you go to customize your house and build an interior staircase and go to delete it (From the top) it will delete pieces of it, but not the whole thing (if memory serves me correctly). Try that out and see if it works. If not, we can look into potentially adding this.

while you at it, could you add new walls? theres one wall type not used which has its stairs used , but not the wall, i mean the bit old looking brick wall which can be found at, umm lets say deceit.

ALso, i wonder if it would be possible to add trees into customization menu?

We can add that wall if it's missing. If you add a screenshot of the graphic that will save us some time in investigating. As for the trees, I don't think we'll add that to the housing system as sometimes players would like to move trees around their house which would be difficult. Also, item stacking (Like getting an origami bird to sit in the tree for effect) cannot be done effectively with the house system (Good example of this are the bars in the customizable system. Not the best for stacking).

If you want to add a tree in the meantime, elf leaf roofs and wooden walls work excellent. For the other trees in the game, I'm currently thinking up a system that works and at the same time, gives a benefit to a certain class (Thinking alchemists can get tree seeds and use the plant system to grow them which would give more use to the plant system as well as alchemy. Not to mention the fact that the tree would also be movable).

I'm pretty sure the house gumps are client side, so we can't really add wall types and stuff.

nope already tried to add a stair and then delete a portion to add it. It doesnt highlight red like its illegal, but it wont commit either.
