Anyone else having issues with programs (especially games) bugging up on dual core (or dual core x64) processors?
I thought it had to do with the version of windows, but after trying both XP x86 and x64, I still run into games either running too fast, or jittery. UO on the otherhand runs perfectly no matter what...well...perfectly for UO anyway.
All drivers are updated as possible, so I don't think it has to do with that.

I'm gonna be setting up my core duo machine with vista up this weekend to see how it handles games. It's nothing fancy as far as graphics card and stuff though.

I've had a dual core for a few months now, and no issues at all. it's an AMD Athlon 64 X2
The thing with dual core is if some program does an infinate loop or other super intense process, it will only be using 50% (100% of one core) so it wont hang up the entire system.
Kind of like when I had RunUO crap out on the new server, it was choking itself but not taking the entire server down with it.

Something I forgot to mention. If I set the affinity to just one core, then it will run fine.
I've had this rig since June or July and have had nothing but problems...it's pissin' me off.
