People stress out too much about Christmas

It's sad, everyone does not take time to enjoy the season, instead they stress out about everything. Decorating, shopping, organizing complicated trips/visits/partys, whatever.

Crazy shoppers spending days at the mall because they just can't find what they want. - who cares? Its the thought that counts.

They totally forget the true meaning. Today I went to the mall and did my shopping stress free, instead of spending 30 days doing it, I do it all in one day, if I can't find what I want, I find something else, done. :P

Then I came home and decided I wanted to go get something to eat so I go back to the mall maybe an hour later to get a poutine at the food court. On my way there, I see a husband swearing at his wife, all pist off because of how she keeps walking too slow (or something to that extent - she's probably at home getting beaten now - he looked like that type :/). Then a bit further I see a kid totally screaming his head off, was kinda funny actually. Then I run into another couple having an argument over who knows what - probably unimportant... like wow people, it's suppose to be a joyful season, not a stress one! Seems every year people turn it more and more into stress, and thats probably since they are missing what is the true meaning.

Just remember what the true meaning of Christmas is. It's not presents, or santa, or business trips, it's to celebrate our savior who was born to die on the cross for our sins. The gifts and all that are just an added extra, no need to fuss over it all!

Merry Christmas

Christmas has nothing to do with money, or gifts, or jesus. It has to do with the position of the sun in the sky and the praising the sun for its gift of light for the growing of crops. History goes a lot further than 2000 years folks. Get yer head outa Josephs ass. :-/

For once I agree with enkel. The christians overtook the pagan winter solstice ceremony. Some of the oldest monuments and relics(from various cultures all over the world) were used to celebrate the equinoxes and solstices. They did the same thing with Easter. Most biblical scholars agree that the birth of Christ happened sometime in the fall.

On the other hand, giving and receiving the gifts is a lot of fun. I got everyone some silly stuff, and they really liked it.

In all actuality, there was no "jesus" in the middle east. There is no proof of it, with the exception of the mythilogical bible.

Agreed. I'd much rather celebrate Christmas in December though so it worked out nicely.

Christmas should have been oct 31. It got mistranslated, since they thought by oct 31 they meant 31 as octal value, so they converted to decimal and it came up as dec 25.
