This is ridiculous!
Many players have already noticed that special resources have been added to D***** as well as a few other goodies like the mining and lumberjacking resources for ML recipes. No changes to the crafting system have occured yet. None. You cannot cut colored wood into colored boards yet... so don't try it or you will get regular boards and a waste of time looking for colored wood. The recipes needed for the mining resources are not implemented yet so while you can gather these resources, you cannot craft with them at this time.
It is obvious the crafting system will be implemented in due time, but currently, it does not work. If you cut colored wood, then just stockpile it for later use
We hope you can appreciate that the implementation of many of these ML additions are complicated changes and will also take several steps to fully implement. Thank you for your patience with everything - we hope you enjoy the changes that have already occured and those to come.

me wrote:"All UODemise Code has to be completely checked, re-checked, and verified by the RunUO Core Programmers (Ryan, Zippy, Mark, krrios, Asayre) before it goes live on Demise because it *WILL* be used in future RunUO releases. This means that, unlike other shards, we actually have to code it correctly (Both in terms of what the players see and what the code actually *IS*)
This means it takes a *LOT* longer to code stuff that "matches" the criteria.
If this is too long, well, sorry. This is just How It Is and How It Will Remain. Once the code passes the RunUO Dev's requirements, you'll see it here."
.
Hrm. Interesting?

Gah, I posted in the other thread before I read this thread. Oh well. They both say about the same thing.
But there is something I'd like to know. I don't mine here often, if ever. But I was mining on Demise earlier out of about 500-600 "digs", I got 3 fire rubies and 1 dark sapphire. Is that consistent with the rate here?
Just curious.

Not even close. You pull them a LOT faster here. Which is good because here . . . unlike D***** you actually need them to make stuff.
Not just nice deco for the two years it takes for them to add recepies.

Probably "slightly" faster here. Either that or if you've pulled out more of them you got lucky.

I pull about 8 or 10 in 600 digs.
Plus it was a stab at them not even having a use for em.

Doesn't sound bad at all. The only thing I have to base this from is fishing, in which I got 5 white pearls in about 1000-1200 casts.

I'm telling those of you who complain and whine constantly.... go elsewhere if you don't like it here. You have no right to complain when it's free! If you were paying for something then you would have a right to complain if you weren't getting what you paid for, but not in this case.
Furthermore, when someone feels unappreciated for their work and gets nothing but complaints that person will not try so hard! A person who is appreciated will work twice as hard.
Actually, not to be too much of a fuss but I know that according to my Psych. book that a misuse of rewards(Giving praise for the inkling of change) is bad. Page 260 of Psychology Ninth ed. claims that: "for rewards to be effective the rewards must be tied to the behaivor you are trying to increase. When rewards are dispensed indescriminately, wihtout being earned, they become meaningless because they no longer reinforce desired behavior; all that teachers(in the context of students getting lavish praise) get is minimal effort and mediocre work. . . In the case of the child who turned in a poorly written paper, the teacher could praise its strengths but also give feedback on the paper's weaknesses and show the child how to correct them."
But the problem arises that whenever someone does offer critisicm it is met with much anger. I do not know about you but when I use ConnectUO it says that UOemise is "The closest thing to OSI, other than OSI." To some people, they feel like that is false advertisement. Change that, and then a lot of people do not have their peddistal to stand on.
I like playing Demise. I enjoy how it has a very active community. . . but the more I think about it the more I am floored by how people act. They say that the GMs and admins care but when people complain they tell them to F* off and go somewhere else. When they talk about somewhere else in an attempt to spark change they are said to F* off, you have NO right to tell people about other places. It is free, but everyone has a vested interest into the future of this shard. We all have put in many hours into it.
Ban me, Im sure you will. The key part to any successful regiem is the spreading of propiganda(Demise being about = to OSI) and the silencing(banning) to all opposition.
I love Demise, but I hate how any form of criticism is met with so much hate. Its really childish. Some people are out of hand with how they pick on Demise, but nothing else gets listened to.

Another 14 days to fuck off? :/
Maybe not, I did say how I like the changes but its gay how they ONLY listen to one small fraction of the community.

Yeah and that is true. They just go on their own way doing what they want and tell anyone giving critique/suggestions to F off.
I still find it funny how they're suddedntly putting out updates now, and have the bug forum and such.
But at the pace they're going all the stuff they're putting out is half assed and will remain that way. I can imagine how horribly coded that stuff is too.
