Can it be possible to improve the firesteed a bit? Since it seems to pretty much always be on fire, can you add one of two things?
Fire area damage similar to the frost beetle
or
Spellweaving so it can use wildfire

Aura won't be hard to put in and would be rather logical but with aura it will be hitting stuff around it like the frost beetle so if you want that extra fire damage ability, you can expect it to be useful in certain situations but it will probably attract more creatures to it, similar to the reptalon. We can give it a fire aura ability and perhaps a mounted ability like a protective fire field around the rider.

Yeah I mean I don't know how other people feel about it, but I was trying to come up with ideas that would make lesser mounts or lesser pets in general more useful in certain situations.
My new theory here is that a pet shouldn't always be able to tank and take on everything like the old AW's could. However, there should be a pet for just about every situation or location. Just a thought.

Sorry to go abit of topic here but i also think the chaos steed isnt worth its rarity nowdays, as its pretty weak for an 4 slot pet...

I always thought Chaos steed was for...asthetic purposes. I do agree the firesteeds would be kewl if they got a bonus.

The whole rare pet thing was Brunus's creation and that project has been left aside for the time being. When I can figure out how I'll spawn them, I'll take a look at their abilities and see if the amount of slots justifies the pet.

Hmm, personally, I'd love to be able to take a herd of cows to Doom and roxxor. Or if not, at least have a herd of cows be somewhat painful to a monster.
Regardless, I like Dumples idea of giving value to lesser pets by giving them sort of special property.

lol cows take 1/4 a slot and you can carry around 25 of em
. I'd like to see that go after paroxysmus, he'd have a feast.

Actually know what, that could work. Just need to add a flag to basecreature to determine which are considered farm/small animals. Maybe could include hinds and such too. Seeing someone pvm with 100 hinds could be amusing.

There would probably still need to be a limit on that. I imagine somebody with 200 cows would probably lag. However, we could maybe expand on this idea and give a new bonus to a tamer who also knows herding.

I remember back before slots were coded in, I saw a person who hired something like 30-40 men-at-arms and gated them all into the ancient wyrm in Destard. The thing killed all of them, but it made for a fun adventure.

Maybe not pet slots but maybe the ability to control monsters that aren't tamed or something. We'll think something up.

That is pretty much what Dryad Allure does already.

or you could make animal lore give a bonus to pet damage/disco/curses/corpeskin on pvm. Or make it for pvp too and lets get some pvp tamers out in the field. I know the fork mage guys will say thats gay. Just because someone doesn't attack with the first circle spell loop+poison+bleed does not make it gay.

Yeah...let's not bring pvm to pvp...the spaniards were simple minded so I never made a big deal out of it...
