so i uninstalled UO, downloaded the mondains legacy client, updated to 6050, installed the latest version of razor and so on, all worked out fine. now then i take out my elfy lumberjack, and go get some wood. chop meself some ash and oak and stuff, then i try to make boards out of it. now heres the problem. it says "You cannot work this strange and unusual wood". methinks i installed everything alright, just tried out spell weaving, it works np.
any ideas ?
no need, seems that you need more than 0 carpentry to make special wood types to boards

You need the required skill in lumberjacking to cut those special hued logs into boards. Likely because in theory, cutting boards falls under the same systems as crafting (So if you're making a bloodwood armoire or cutting boards, it's within the same system as "crafting"). We might be able to override the board cutting part though and make an exception.

Yeah. Make board conversion pre-aos, just use an axe on logs.

Actually, that's not a bad idea to incorporate that. That way you can hack the boards on the ground instead of always having to put the buggers in your bag THEN make the boards.

EXACTLY! A lot of pre-aos stuff made so much more sense.
...It's been so long tho, I forget a lot of the things I noticed changed with aos.

I noticed a while back when the change went into effect that allowed you to make boards out of all your colors of wood at once, that you had to have regular wood in your bag as well.

A long time ago I started playing AOS for the first time (before that I played UO beta as a GM blacksmith). First thing I did was kill some orcs to make some gold and went to buy full plate armor. It was disappointing...

I remember trying to pull off the tiled explosion potion trick where you paralyzed what was in the middle and launched a pot to cause a chain reaction of KO goodness. I was quite surprised when that demon only took one blast of the explosion potion then marched over and told me off.

lol ya I remember that one. Need to research exactly what the durability property attains to before fixing that. I'll add that to the list.

Ya that's actually what it's supposed to do but surpassing the normal max durability cap might not be exactly right. They changed that on demise which leads me to believe it's supposed to add that extra durability percentage but not surpass the max (255/255).

Leggings of bane is the only exception
. Other items usually don't get as high as 255 durability before that durability percent bonus is applied.

Yeah personally I say we keep it, gives a better meaning to that property, for that item specially.
