Mage weapon question...

My question is... if anyone can look at the code and figure this out for me...

When I equip a mage weapon -0, my weapon skill is equal to my magery (120). I cannot use the special moves though. What if I trained that weapon skill up to 70, so I can use the primary move. Would I still have the equivilant of 120 weapon skill from my magery or would I go down to 70 weapon skill?

It would probably still use mage, its just that the special shot function checks against that weapon's skill.
