Just a heads up, if you page and theres no one online (which will be the case most of the time since we work and stuff) feel free to PM me or other staff member, or post on the forum. Chances are you will get a faster response that way then wait for a GM to be online. I tend to check the forums from work a lot between phone calls.

Just thought I'd throw this as a heads up in case people find they're not getting ahold of staff when they want.

In regards to this, you can either PM red or myself. I check my emails frequently so if you don't get a response in game, I will eventually get to it.

no offense but staff is awefull here......... Ur all night time players and how is issues in game going to be fixed by someone not even logged into the game?
very unprofessional for new players if a new player comes pages waits 7 hours like me with no responce is honestly gonna say fuck it and leave.

I don't want to sound like demise, but we have jobs/school and cannot be in game all the time. I spend about 4 hours a day at home, max, not counting sleep. Work, go to gym, eat, its about 7:00 by then, and have to go to bed early to get up the next day. Death is in worse situation since he's in college AND works.

Fridays are a different story, staff will usually be on till about 4:00am and most day Saturday.

But if we're coding we're probably on TC1 or not logged in at all. So best way to get ahold of us is through forums. I can access that from work and check it between script compiles. When I code my command line client in a usable state I *might* use it to answer pages from work, but I don't guarantee anything. I don't put much time into that client.

Also I am not hiring more staff. We've had too many issues. People think its a free for all just because its a smaller shard. The economy is still suffering from early day GM hacked items that have made it to players, which would not be fair to remove at this point.

hire some counsellors then or summit cos this shard is fucked for gms and yeah your time on the shard is minimal which means you need dedicated people to sort this stuff out cos tbh its pointless having gms if your not gonna have one for diff time zones.

Which is why we have forums. People can PM GMs. I will also be setting up a staff@uovalor email soon so all staff have access to it. Just have to setup a public gmail inbox that they land into after going through the spam filtering gateway at my house. I will probably make pages go to this address as well.

i for one beleive the staff here are great, they listen to suggestions act on them and are actively involved in the shard sure there not online allll the time but as they said u can email them for a faster response if u wanna see awful staffing, goto demise experience the nazi's first hand!

You do have a point but unfortunately, being a small shard, we don't have the time and resources to keep hiring more staff. Also, we DID have 3 counselors to help us before but they weren't able to do the job properly.

This is why we suggested the email system so if we aren't available to answer your questions at that moment in the game, you will still get a response from us. Also, the forums are an excellent resource and if you have a question about the game, I'm sure a veteran player would be able to help you out.

Most pages received are general questions anyways. If a character is stuck or needs assistance, the stuck option is available for them to use right away.

Haha I thought of it, but as a shard I don't really want to support bashing another shard, no matter how tempting and fun such a section could be.

this page kind of dishes out the pwn stick at them though.

Do you have a problem, or are you just complaining? I mean obviously they've responded to your comments here all day. If you posted an in-game issue here they would have already gotten the email and/or posted here about some suggestions. I'd say deal with it and see how it goes. It hasn't been a huge problem over all and won't be unless this shard suddenly grows to a larger population real quick.

Oh... anyone reading this. Make sure you keep voting!!! It will help to keep getting new players.

Yes the voting is important and for those who play demise take any opportunity to mention this shard when someone says something like "I wonder when they'll fix darts" Preferably not on forums or you may get banned, but in-game it *should* be safe.

I want to add one more comment here. For the amount of work that Squirrel and Death do, it is amazing. This server is way ahead of most as far as what has been done to make it up to date beyond the basic RunUO.

As far as asking for support and complaining about the level of service.
It's absolutely free. You don't have to pay any money to this server if you don't want to. There is no written or implied level of warranty or support. These guys are entirely volunteers to this and don't get paid by some kind of software company for what they do.

Also, GMs on OSI actually get paid for their job (I would love that job... lol) so before anyone says "even OSI GMs respond faster" or something to that extent. :P

I think that the staff helps out and does the best to their ability to help players. We all have busy lives and that means that they can't be on all the time. Their solution to the problem seems perfect and they usually respond within an hour. What does that mean? That means that they take time even OUT of a busy day to check forums and work on it. That's dedication that is beyond amazing. The factor that they've already stuck so much time and effort into this shard is beyond outstanding as well. AoV is sooo far ahead of any shard and will get more recognition very soon.

Reco, please don't bash the staff because they work too hard to hear stuff like this. You are not regular enough player to see the hard work that they put in. Death himself worked on Luna alone to properly decorate it and Squirrel does such an amazing job coding and doing bugs. They have lives too, just like you do with your musician career. They can't be on 24/7 to cater to our needs and just take note of the situtation and explain later. I'm sure they will help out as best they can.
