perhaps some kinda gump where u can enter the things he can say, this would remove people making the parrot out the front of ur house talk smack about the owner (the person who did this shall remain nameless he knows who he is) if a gump isnt possible, perhaps only the owner can train the parrot?

Yeah I moved into a castle recently, and I'm making sure my parrots arent in the front of my house. Debating whether I actually activate them. I might just lock the parrot bodies down and not have them talk at all.

Yeah, I don't know how hard it would be, but it would be better if they could inherit house rights so that you can set friend, co-owner, or owner levels to them.

Actually I keep forgetting to code them so they only listen if they are fed, the more fed they are the more they listen and talk. And I could make it so non owners are listened way less then the owner.

That would be a good idea. The wafers thing should be coded soon as more and more people have parrots. For the moment, you can place your parrots on the inside of your houses to block smack talkers trying to get it to say things. Unfortunately some players are poor sports in the games and have to resort to methods like this, therefore we have to rework some of the coding to ensure it doesn't happen.

I wonder how hard it would be to have a "lock" option for parrots to only listen to owners... isn't the parrot at the gate library like this?

That's a GM thing. The way real parrot work is they "learn" what they hear. They do it a bit too well however. That's where the wafer part will come in. If your parrot is hungry, it will be less interested in learning. If it's been feed a bunch of wafers, it will concentrate more on learning.
