In case you haven’t heard of it (or think it’s fake), look on
KFC’s Web site. Nutritionally it isn’t much worse than other fast-food offerings, but, like most KFC fare, I think it looks disgusting even by fast-food standards. Even if I weren’t a vegetarian, I’m pretty sure I would vomit if I tried to eat it. I can just imagine grease running down my arms and mouth.

This has the potential to either be disgusting or totally awesome. I plan to try it at least once.

It looks ok, but not something that would beat the Wendy's Baconator.

I would rather chew on my ear wax than eat that.

The vegan version looks even worse. Yet another vegan dish relying on expensive, highly processed mock meats, although this one was at least intended as a joke. (That “bacon” is a joke in itself.)

Well, I actually had a double down today, I wouldn't consider this an official judgment on the thing because the chicken seemed like it could've been a little better prepared. A bit sub-par for what I've seen in that particular franchise in the past, maybe a new cook or something. Anyway, the "sandwich" itself wasn't bad. What of the sauce I tasted had a pleasant tang to it. The bacon, while tasty, kinda got lost in the sandwich, could've used an extra strip or two. All in all it tasted mostly like I was eating a couple of KFC chicken breast fillets, which is in and of itself, not bad. KFC makes some pretty good chicken. Though the nature of the sandwich made it somewhat awkward to eat.
The final verdict, will I eat it again? Possibly, but I'm not really rushing back out there. The next time I'm at KFC (which will probably be another month or more) I'll probably just pick up some chicken strips, but I may consider a double down. It is not disgusting, but not a revolutionary taste sensation either.
