Ubuntu 9.10 is out with lots of new features. Performance seems to have improved on Intel graphics, and Epiphany finally uses the WebKit rendering engine by default.

I don’t actually use Ubuntu anymore, but I figured I shouldn’t break my tradition of posting about each release.

I'll have to check this out. Eventually I'd like to actually run Linux as my main OS.

ext4 filesystem? I had no idea that even existed. When did that come out?

It was proposed on 28 June 2006, and ext4dev became ext4 on 11 October 2008. Ext4 was introduced in Ubuntu 9.04, although it did not become the default file system until 9.10.

I’m still on ext3, and I will be for a while longer.

Hmm yeah I googled it, had no idea it existed. Figured ext3 was the latest. That's what I use on all my servers. Think my backup server might be ext2 though as it's a super old version of debian.
