BEIRUT, Lebanon - A leading human rights group appealed to Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah on Thursday to stop the execution of a woman accused of witchcraft and performing supernatural acts.

her name is Fawza Falih, apparently illiterate & cannot read or write. She was arrested by the Saudi Religious Police and forced to “sign” a confession by making a thumbprint.
- she turned me into a newt
............ I got better.

If they go through with it, what are we going to do? - Stop driving? - there is nothing we can do, and they know it.

There's nothing we can do, except discuss it really. People have been lost for sillier things.

Interesting you should say this, we have war tribunals, for post WWII, where even today we are arresting and convicting. Saddam Hussein himself was executed for crimes against humanity, Yet here we are in a position As Nations, As defenders, As liberators, to save this life and We can discuss it

In both cases you mention (WWII and Saddam Hussein), they were apprehended and tried in the course of, or after wars. Are you advocating war with Saudi Arabia?

a good question, but before advocating 'war' who would I demand Saudi Arabia to hand over? i.e. who is the one responsible for the 'proposed execution'? is it, or would it be
the arresting officer,
clerks for the paper work,
the prosecution, or defense lawyers,
the judge,
the lawyers at the appeal level
judge(s) at the appeal level
the parliament who created the law,
1'st levels of officials granted 'pardon' powers
or the King ( last level of pardon )
- list is based on Canadian levels of law and likely not complete, and I'm not sure the process is the same in Saudi Arabia, however I'm sure from what I have read the list is fairly accurate. Never mind appeal level has more than one judge, and there are a couple of levels of appeal.
Laws are designed as protection, not punishment. The very laws designed to protect, Fawza Falih, will now see to her execution. When (if) the execution occurs who is responsible?

I'm sure you could throw a cleric or two into your list of people/groups.

Not very historical, please keep that in mind. It was based more on McCarthyism than what really happened.
