KDE 4.0 is due out today. Anyone gonna try it? Some of the new applications don’t even contain a K! :P

(It’s almost been a whole year since anyone’s posted here.)

Would be funny if an application called KK was ported to KDE.

KDE is nice, but I appreciate GNOME’s elegant simplicity. (Some may instead call it anemia, and fortunately they have other options.) Still, I look forward to trying KDE 4 when I have more time.

Ya, I know what you mean. I do like to try out the latest software, even though I love the one I have.

I tried KDE, I just did not like it.

What is your fav. distro?
I like mandrake 2007

I’ve used Ubuntu exclusively since August 2006, although I’ll theoretically switch to Gobuntu when it supports my ThinkPad as nicely as Ubuntu. (It may already, but I won’t know until Canonical releases a live CD.)

cool, Ubuntu gives me a headace, I could never find drivers for my wireless USB, and it said it was out of the box support.

ehh, so I found mandrake, and fell in love!

My first time was with Mandrake. (Is it not Mandriva now?) Some time later, I downloaded Red Hat Linux 8.0 over dial-up and tried that. My modem wouldn’t work with either distro, so I went back to Windows for a few years before trying Ubuntu.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if my modem works now.

Why yes they are, they are GUIs = General User Interface
Most OS have a GUI such as Windows and MAC's OS x.x.x

It is like the tool bar, start button, things like that.

if you are interested in linux you should goto: http://www.distrowatch.com

Well I don't know. I've been told it's fantastic if you want to learn about operating systems and stuff, but I play WoW and stuff on my PC and WoW doesn't run with Linux.

all this talk it leading me to think I should do a dual boot with linux, and xp.

I am thinking about taking a look at Ubuntu again, or Gobuntu.

Any suggestions?
