Not sure if this is true but got this in an email, worth a shot if you got a gun to your head, I suppose. :D

red, there is no way that is possible because what if your pin number is something like 4884? It looks the same both ways so how will the ATM machine tell? If this was true then people with pins like this would just be screwed if they were getting robbed? lol

Haha yeah, or it would trigger the police every time.

"Everytime I take out money the cops show up, why?"

Though that sparks an interesting idea, ATMs should have an "emergency" button. You hit it 3 times or something and it would trigger the cops to show up. Or even just have it mandatory to have a phone near (even a pay phone) Specially inside banks

all ATM's have cameras, and the main priority is your health, if you are forced against your will, the maximum limit is like $300 so give up the money. it is the least of your worries.

Yeah I'd give the money, and a free kick in the nuts followed by a punch in the nose, and the famous two finger eye ball punch.

If they guy does not appear harmed, run like a girl.

Or if I decide I want to die, ask for a receipt.

:roflmao:

Why don't the banks set the ATM up so if you type in 911 on the keypad for any reason, it will call the police? They'd have to not allow the pins 9110, 9111, 9112...9119, but that's only like 10 PINs, they can tell a few customers that they need to change their PIN for a safety precaution. I don't think they'd mind. I wouldn't.

plus, say your pin is 4561, but some one else's pin could be 1654, that would not work at all.

They would need some kinda of unique code like: you enter your pin backwards 1654 then add # and maybe a >> in the middle so overall

reg: 4561
new: 1654>>#

lol!

Also, they could prove it is backwards:

the machine contacts the bank, it validates it by making sure the pin matches the card number, like a username and password script.

so you could use my theory above if your pin was 4884

lol, brain fart
