Briana's life...

My buddy Briana has had a depressing life.
Last year, her mother's boyfreind shot Briana's mother 3 times, killing her with the first shot. She was devastated. Her brother is now 4, but has the mental capacity of a 2 year old. He is catching up though.
Her grandmother was granted custody of Briana and Brandon, and they have been living there for a year. Her mother's boyfreind was sentenced to double life.
What she doesn't know is what she will do when her grandmother passes away. She is only 10. Can you imagine that? Losing your'e mother so quickly, in such an evil way? Not even out of elementary school?

Does anyone have any advice for Briana?

Yeah that really sucks. I've had friends who've had a bad time, but thats horrible.
I actually lost my mother before I was 10. She wasn't shot 3 times, but it was long before I was 10.

Some little things...

- ALWAYS look to the future. No matter how dark your days may be now and in the past, there is always hope for a better tomorrow.

- Build a good support network of good friends who'll stick around (not the kinds of friends who are "friends" with you just because you add to their coolness).

Beyond that, I really can't say without knowing the person.

Thats very sad. I am sorry to hear that. There is always a way out. I have been there myself and its okay to get help. She'll miss out on so much.

Keep a good strong friendship with her, always be there for her and try to make her always think positive. That things will get better. And they will.

Wish her the best of luck for me.
