Unlock only works on like 3 or 4 levels.

Yes, it seems that anything level 3 and below can beunlocked with the spell. It adds value to those with the lockpicking skill.sliptongue69 wrote:Unlock only works on like 3 or 4 levels.

Chests cannot be unlocked at all with magic. It was a bug, well it got put in and somehow did not make it for the reboot. Need to use a lock pick. But level 1,2,3 you can probably get away with little to no lock picking skill.

Reason why the mage unlock spell was disabled on the dungeon treasure chests. Gives people an excuse to pick up the lockpicking skill (Which previously, wasn't all that important until treasure chests got bumped). For now, levels 1 through 6 chests will not be unlockable with magery (In the future, levels 1 and 2 may be turned on for magery use). Did not make sense that mages could get the same benefits as a lockpicker/thief for less skill.Dumples wrote:Yes, it seems that anything level 3 and below can beunlocked with the spell. At that same time, it makes theunlock spell useless. The unlock spell was always able to open like level 1 or 2 locks as mentioned, but the ability shouldn't be removed completely.Seer Death wrote:Reason why the mage unlock spell was disabled on the dungeon treasure chests. On the flip side, with the new loot enhancements, it makes it more fair to the people that make more dedicated characters with lockpicking, stealth, and maybe stealing mroe valuable as characters.

It still works on corresponding paragon chests, just not the dungeon chests. Like I said earlier, once the chest loot is fixed up (More will be going in them), level 1 and 2 chests may work with magery.Dumples wrote: At that same time, it makes theunlock spell useless. Actually I was planing to leave it as it is to make lock picking skill a requirement for those. Also its all or nothing, if I disable mage spell on those chests, its global to that item type.

Ya I figured that. Unlock still works perfectly on paragon chests though and you can probably even get away with human lockpicking skill on the level 1's.Red Squirrel wrote:Actually I was planing to leave it as it is to make lock picking skill a requirement for those. I'm actually all for requiring lockpicking for any chests, just makes the need for certain skills like lockpicking more apparent. What would be cool for the unlock spell would be to have various doors in dungeons or places that require certain levels of magery to unlock and get into, or something to that effect.

Plenty. There's a bunch of rogues lurking around in the shadows. That and the 300+ skill tickets, not too hard to make one either.rizzen wrote:any dungeon chests actually been opened since this change??
