using the XNA program I'm going to design a video game but I need ideas so does anybody have any suggestions?

What kind of game do you have in mind? I don't really know what XNA is, so I'll ask is it going to be a shooter? Strategy? Tetris? . . .

XNA is Microsoft's much hyped Game Studio software for hobbyistsstudents to make games for XBOX 360 and Windows. I haven't actually worked with it myself, but from what I've heard it's a decent app that pretty easy to use (though I would expect you'd still need to be somewhat of a knowledgeable programmer to use it effectively).


But yeah, it's hard to just throw out ideas like that. Do you have any idea what kind of game you want to make? Any basic genres you have your eye on?

Personally the kind of game I'd like to see is a vertical scrolling shooter (like DoDonPachi or the Raiden series) with some rpg elements. Horizontal scrollers are cool too (Gradius, R-type)
