i have just noticed that my ru is not guarding me as it used to on other shards, when a group of monsters attack me i say "all guard" and mu ru keeps attacking one mob when others are after me, it "should" change targets when other mobs are attacking me

Think it's always done this, it will finish killing the first guarded mob before it goes to the other. If it started attacking each mob then it would pull everything to itself and die. (depending what the mobs are). What I used to do on Demise when I played my tamer a lot is just invis, then all the mobs aggro the pet, then uninvis to vet, repeat as needed.

thats what it supposed to do, its better at tanking than my tamer so yeah id die faster than my pet, it would aggro all mobs that are attacking ME and i wouldnt mind it at all

You need to either back off more, or do what squirrel said and hide.

Also if you leave the area, pets go kinda wacky since they don't know where their owner is.

Actually, most of my pets do what you described as far as attacking other targets that are headed towards me. Only thing I noticed in general is that I have to be real close to my pet, and the pet generally has to be between the nearest attacker and me for it to really be of use. It isn't super reliable though and be ready to heal yourself.

I find that different pets do this to a different degree. Hiryus are the absolute dumbest pets and they will do the most idiotic things. I find that Yoshis are the smartest, although that's not always the best thing. If I tell them to guard me, they will run after anything that attacked me last, but that may mean that they run back and forth and not end up getting anywhere...
