Are the Republicans going to lose control of the Congress in the upcoming elections?

It's a really close call I think. I believe that they probably will.. and it serves them right. I don't think that the Democratic party will do a good job, in fact, if memory serves they'll suck it up too. I'm probably going to vote Libritarian on most things this election.

There will never be a significant and lasting change until there is more competition in our government. From drawing electoral districts to debate over constitutional amendments, until ideas outside a 2 party system play a larger role, until states regularly elect local ideologies into our federal union, we will continue to toe the line towards a watered-down middle that disallows anyone to truely progress.

Uh, so to answer your question, probably, but then the Dems. will show how bad they are and it will switch again... No one is really represented by their party here, just more so than the other party.

Unfortunately there are very few reasonable candidates in my area other than the Dem, Rep, and Independent. The Libs are whiny little b*tches who can stop yelling 'Big Brother, Big Brother' long enough to put together a coherent position on anything... in fact, they can be summed up as being anti-anything that somehow restricts what a person can do when. The Constitution party line is that we need to bring Jesus into the government, since the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution with the Bible in mind (nevermind the foreign notion of separation of church and state...) - oh and they think the way to eliminate (yes, eliminate) violent crime is to give everyone a handgun to carry with them always.... And the United party is like the butt portion of the Libertarian and the Democratic parties. I'm not sure if I'll even vote in this election.

So pretty much, they all suck and can't do their job to suit every one.

I don't expect any single candidate to suit every belief I have, etc. as to how they should represent me. However, I'd also like to have someone to choose that is more than just a lesser evil.
