I am going stir crazy.
I am recently unemployed and just moved to a new area. I knew this would happen...this is what I was dreading...everyone I know works, and everyone I know is far away.
I just quit my job and moved so that my fiance could take a really awesome new position with NASA...and now...I...have absolutely NOTHING to do.
The house is cleaned, meals are half prepared ahead of time...no one is emailing me or returning my emails- probably because they HAVE a life....sigh.
Seriously, I think I am going to cry. I need adult conversation... I need contact with the outside world.
Am I a bad person, when taking care of the home and being Taxi for the kids isnt good enough...?

Find yourself a hobby. Sounds simple, even trite, but think of something you like that you've thought to yourself "I'd like to make/do that and not just enjoy others' work". If that fails, get into computer/video games:)

I'm really not the best person for advice, however you do need outside human contact. you are completly new to an area and youf fieance is working and really won't have the energy for a social life after work either. Continuing education, voleentering, or get a pet?

Buy junk for next to nothing at garage sales and sell it for outragous prices on Ebay.
Do jigsaw puzzles with the old people at a nursing home.
Train for a marathon.

Yeah i find myself in the same dilema. So i'm interested in some ideas too...
Knitting..i don't think so..
Puzzle, maybe but i can't sit that long in one spot.
Continuing education sounds good, or maybe reading a good book. How about having a few drinks and having a dance party in your living room...
I have been doing that alot lately...kinda fun...

That's how I keep myself sane when I find myself bored over time. Short term, I turn to computer games(hearts & Sim City), but that wears off, and over time, only feeling like I've achieved something keeps boredom away.
