sounds like intel is going to release the new quad core cpu's anyone have an insite of price dropping on the core 2 duo, what are your thoughts on the chip itself?

although not difinitive - the new intel quad cores are going to have the same socket as the core 2 duo, anyone hear anymore on this?

amd has their 4x2 chip, which isn't a true quad core, however, if you go with amd you have the set up for a

8 core system when they release the new true quad cores - however i think it might be too little too late.
