Probably goes like this:
"Ohhh a beauty! look at this snake, like the one that bit me a while ago, if I get bitten by this one, I only have 30 seconds to live! imagine that!" *starts spazzing out*
He was a jar though, too bad it had to happen but he certainly was not going to die of old age.

Well, I hear that he was stabbed in the chest and died in seconds. Stabbed by a sting ray. I still can't believe he's dead though. I thought he would have died in a more violent way.

I heard a news report the other day, right after this happened.
THE STEVE IRWIN DEATH "are extreme nature shows too extreme?"
Now don't get me wrong I understand the sintement but, the man was killed by somthing that rarley killes humans. The only reason he died is because of his heart being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I could see this headline being somthing to think about if the man was mauled and eaten by a croc or bitten by a poisionus snake and died before anti-venom could be administered. HE WAS KILLED BY A STINGRAY.. I Think that it's sad that we lost an obviously energetic entertainer who loved his job and loved all animals. Too Extreme... maybe but, don't use this as a catalyst.

That's retarded. Its like the whole thing that went on with JB..it was like flippin' 8 years and now they are debating whether or not they should pull young women out of beauty pagents. It was sad, BUT it could've happened to anyone, and it hasnt happened since then..so RAWR!

Yeah its sad that was his way to go. If I was him I'd want it to be much better, like getting ganked by crocodiles or something... but then again, the stingray was probably quick and painless if it hit the heart.

true, true...I always imagined he'd get eaten by a crocodile or get bitten by a snake or something...but hey...at least he didn't suffer or anything..he was so cool!

Contact with the stinger causes local trauma (from the cut itself), pain and swelling from the venom, and possible infection from parts of the stinger left in the wound. Injuries to humans include, but are not limited to: poisoning, punctures, severed arteries and possible death.
Treatment for stings includes the application of near-scalding water, which helps ease pain by denaturing the complex venom protein, and antibiotics. Immediate injection of local anaesthetic in and around the wound can help, as can the use of adjunct opiates such as intramuscular pethidine.
Even if the poisonous barb had not of punctured his heart directly, I doubt he'd have not gone through considerible pain.
