Hate groups around the world, including Islamic militants, often use Internet servers based in the United States to send propaganda and instructions to followers, according to a report released Thursday by the Simon Wiesenthal Center.

In its eighth annual report on Internet hate speech, the Wiesenthal Center said it had logged some 6,000 Web sites in the past year used by racists and bigots to incite violence.

The pages, many of which the center archived on compact disc, range from rantings by American white supremacists to execution videos distributed by Islamic terror groups.

In order to stop these groups, one would have to have a precise definition of a "hate group" and I'm not sure if such a definition exists. I would hate for us to become like China, where certain topics are off-limits on the internet. But I would also hate for the US to be used to spread instructions to terrorists.

while reading this I traced in my mind the ones held responsible , let me explain....

I say to someone, 'shove it up your ass' and they actually do it, am I responsible?

I say to someone, 'go and kill someone else' am I now responsible?

I wanna turn around the responsiblity for which the government holds us accountable. If they lead' or say something which 'we believe' than lets hold them accountable as they would hold hate propaganda accountable.

just a thought

:didi:

If you had personally gathered a bunch of people together, brainwashed them into thinking you were their supreme leader, handed them lit sticks of dynamite, and then said it, then yep, you'd be responsible.

Just a thought. :P

I really don't see the difference. Yes hate propaganda is all kinds of nasty, however - 'We' choose not to listen, or if we do, 'We' still have the choice to act. I don't see it being different in elections when, 'We' choose to listen , and then 'choose' to vote? our votes are based on whats being said, however when the time comes to fullfil the promise - nadda, nothing, zip - big giant goose-eggs.

brainwashing is a term used to loosley for this discussion.
