Because Easter is the pagan fertility holiday. The day Easter is selected has nothing to do with Jesus death and resurrection its based on solar and lunar calenders for the pagans celebration. Thus the rabbit and the egg are the 2 most common symbols for this.

Easter is pretty much a normal day for me since my family isn’t very religious and everyone is too old to hunt for Easter eggs. I did get a chocolate Easter bunny though! (Pagan or not, it was delicious.)

Happy Easter!

Yeah I really dont know why bunnies are put into easter. I can understand santa clause and christmas, because some dude called santa clause used to actualy drop gifts down people's chimneys where he lived (or something like that). And Jesus being born was a gift to human kind so gifts on christmas sort of go with the true meaning, in a way.

But, Jesus' ressurection and bunnies? lol

Its the Pagan fertility holiday hence why rabbits and eggs are the key symbol rabbits are very fertile and eggs are associated with birth thus eggs and rabbits are the 2 key symbols.

The real date of Christ death is historically preserved by passover so if you want to celebrate the real death of Christ many people have the date listed but they are estimates.
