Windows vs Apple

I hate how people use Apples and actually like it. It's 10x more complicated to use then a Windows. The first time I used an Apple, I was all, what the hell am I looking at? It was so confusing (Mac OSX). I hated it. When I used a Windows, I did not need a lesson. It was so easy to search up information. Windows uses better was to make the computer faster and easier to use. Like when you type something on a Mac and backspace, it takes for ever! And the mouses on Macs are really retarded. I think my life runs on Windows. Thank god for Windows.

The best operating system differs from person to person. All screenshots I’ve seen of Mac OS X are devastatingly sexy (like the hardware), but I’ve never used it in person. I just use Windows XP, which I quite like, on a daily basis.
However, FreeBSD really appeals to me. When school lets out, I hope to try it.

Yeah OS is really an opinion thing. I prefer win2k over any OS, in terms of desktops, but for servers, it has to be linux.

I just read that Apple has come up with some software that lets you run Windows on an Apple computer. You can have both systems on the same computer, but you have to rebot when you want to switch from one system to the other.

Yeah now that apple has moved to intel this is possible, heck it was probably possible before, just a bit more complicated to do.

FreeBSD is nice. Of all the BSD's, it's the most refined.

Actually, there has been Windows XP and Me for Apple, however it always ran in a virtual environment with high resource requirements and somewhat sluggish performance on a lot of machines. Since Apple contracted with Intel for processors, there will be Windows compiled and able to run on a Mac so you could have a dual-boot setup with both Windows and Mac OS installed, requiring, as you said, a reboot to switch from one to the other. That said, it will be interesting to see how Windows for the Mac evolves, and whether or not it will cause the Apple monopoly on Mac-compatible PC's to soften.

Instead of your information being contained in a window, it will be scattered in little dots all over your screen.

The fact that more stuff works in windows does not make it better. the only reason more stuff works in windows is because windows has the biggest OS market share, so for sure software devs will make a windows version of something #1 priority. I can't say for sure which is better as I never used mac OS. I know as a fact though that Mac is better for video related stuff. But if I was to choose what to deploy for an office, for example, I'd go Windows, because everyone is familiar with it. But if I wanted a rock stable network, and learning curve was not an issue, linux all the way.

I think MAC OS-X is a great OS, it is based on Darwin a kernel that relies on a custom version of a BSD kernel. The user interface is great and some software such as Final Cut are very easy to use and very powerful at the same time.
What I don't like about Apple is it's closed vision. Take the Ipod for example, why pay for something that plays only music in its itunes format ?
The Creative Zen Vision M is less expansive ad have a lot of feature that Ipod doesn't have.
I hope that now on Intel platform, Apple change its point of market view, the 'user experience' between Windows and OS-X it's about the same for me
bye
