Anything Forums

Someone I met at another forum has decided to start a forum of his own and run it as a democracy. The administrators will be voted on at the end of each month, and the ruling administrators will then be able to change things on the forum. Here is a link to the page explaining the concept and the voting, and I was just wondering what other people here think of this idea. I personally think that any general discussion that takes place at the forum will take a back seat to the power struggles. (I also think it would be cool if three or more of us from here were to go over there and form The Anythingforums Coalition and take over. Just kidding. )

I actually joined the forum that I linked in the first post. They only had one coalition started and the elections are happening right now, so I joined and started my own coalition. I just need one more member on my coalition for it to be eligible to be voted in as the administration for next month. So Red, I know you have enough forums already, but if you could handle one more, I could use someone who actually knows how to perform the adminstration functions. Reaper and Clueless, you are invited as well, because I think the two of you would agree with my coalition platform. I don't know enough about the other regular posters to know if they would vote with me or against me, so I'd better be careful with my invitations.

I had another member join my coalition last month at Power to the People. The election for May was tied, and the owner of the site decided to declare my coalition the winner since his coalition was in power last month. So now I am an administrator there, and I don't have the faintest idea how to change anything at a Runboards forum. I really need to get rid of that red lettering in all the posts.

That is really really cool. I like the philosophy. I recently started a forum considering an idea like that. Not quite as advanced and organized but I'm glad you posted this because I now know exactly what direction I'm gonna steer my new board in.

Ok so I have my new board up and going with this great new democratic forum idea that starwind started. Starwind said that they want to try and have other forums adopt the idea so to have a huge coalition of these forums out there...so I will be the first one to start a forum in that honor and if it works for me I think I may convert my main forum as well.
