where can i find Qbasic on windows XP? does it come with windows XP??? i need to access it for my Qbasic class. i need to practice my mad programming skillz.

Ewww is your school making you learn that? That's just as bad as VB, if worse. :D

umm, yeah, not making me, i chose to learn it, i need it if i'm gonna work with computers or be an engineer when i get older, plus i'm in a robotics club at school and i need some programming so that i can program our robots to work properly. it'll be great for the first robotics competition (http://www.usfirst.org/)

There is a download link in Wikipedia’s QBasic article. Download at your own risk.

I doubt you will use QBasic professionally, but it looks like a good language to start with. Does your school teach any other languages? I hear some actually teach Java and C++.

What do you think of QBasic? I have to use GW-BASIC in my calculus class, and it drives me crazy. I have to number my own lines. Functions can only take up one line. There is a command called “GOTO”, but I don’t want to traumatise anyone by describing that.

Wow sounds worse then I thought. :D

Basically, my suggestion is also to stay away from any MS language, like vB, .NET etc... learn something like pearl, C++, php, etc. But that's just my suggestion, .NET is actually used enough profesionally so it's not a BAD thing to learn, I just hate frameworks and such.

at the community college i went to they taught visual basic and C# in the 100 level classes.. i didn't go any farther than that
