U.S. teen leaves Iraq for home

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A 16-year-old from Florida who traveled to Iraq on his own without telling his parents has left the country and is on his way home, the U.S. Embassy’s consul general said Friday.
Farris Hassan, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., had been under the care of the U.S. Embassy after being on his own in Iraq for several days.
Hassan “has now safely departed Baghdad and this young American is on his way back home to his family in the United States,” Consul General Richard Hermann said.
