PC support getting annoying! ARG

Sometimes I think I should just stop my PC support business and stick with web design. People can be so freaken annoying. I keep having to go back to this one person's house for stupid things like installing office. I need to install VNC on customer's computer I think. Bad security though. :mellow:

good thing most of my customers don't have a router since they'd freak out if I ask them what the password is.

No wait, default, or password, would be the password, because those who do have a router never bother to change it. :rolleyes:

This is why I'm trying to get completely out of IT support.

I had this user call me last week that was arguing with me...ARGUING...that she didn't have a power button on her machine.


I just wanted her to shut it down. :|

I was like, well how do you turn on your computer every morning?? DO THAT.

Plus, you've got the complete idiots who call asking stuff like "how do I change my password?" Even if I wasn't in IT, Christ is it really that hard to just look around a bit or google it?

How do these people do other things in their lives, in situations where they don't have a help desk to call.

God, I want to strangle people sometimes.

:lol: Yeah. I do IT contracting for a construction company owned by my uncle. So I got a message so I called back as I just wanted to know the extent of the problem but got his partner, so I just asked him if windows was actually loaded, or if the PC did not boot at all, and he did not even know how to answer that. I'm all "do you see the desktop with all the icons?" response: "I have no clue, I'm not a computer expert".

You don't NEED to be an expert to answer that question!

I don't know much about cars but if a mecanic calls and asks if it actually starts or not, I can still answer that question.
