This is an excellent German film about the time leading up to Germany's surrender in WWII. Bruno Ganz does a wonderful job as Hitler and the film is historically accurate (at least from what I remember from the documentaries and books I read on the subject). If you've got an interest in WWII then check it out. I doubt you'd be disappointed.

Is that the film about Hitler where at the beginning it shows him beating a dog up? And where he's cycling back and forth at military outposts? Because if it is... I love that film! Watch it!

No, this film is based, in part, on the experiences of his secretary, Traudl Junge. It starts with him selecting his secretary and then skips a couple years to ahead during the Soviet siege of Berlin.

Sounds like my kind of film. I'll keep an eye out for it and rent it out.

Definitely! I've been a fan of German WWII movies (like Stalingrad and Das Boot), but I think this one is the best with Stalingrad in a close second.

Yeah it is a lot of reading but after sitting through The Passion of the Christ, Downfall was no bother.
