Camps

Ever since I started playing UO, I've always been interested in the random camps idea. Things such as the orc, brigand, and ratmen camps, as well as the famously rare evil mage (blood tile) camp.
One thing I've noticed on AoV is the emptiness of Malas. Well, it's not entirely empty, it actually well spawned, but the majority of mobs is the smugglers (which are a gold-mine). So I was thinking, to add a little something to Malas. How about an (ultra?) rare Smugglers Camp in Malas?
The camps would be a mess of tents, with a group of smugglers commanded by a Smuggler Captain. The Smugglers would have their normal loot, as would the beetles. But the captain would have a chance to drop something really special. I'm not talking about wearable artifacts or anything of that nature. I'm talking something like specially hued stone or wooden furniture, bear rugs, open books, or perhaps even a statue of some sort.
Just something I've been thinking about. I know I'm not a current player (and I won't be until I get a new computer, new apartment, new job, and new interent provider), but this is the best shard I've ever played on, and I'd like to continue to be a part of it, at least halfway.
Let me know what you guys think.

Actually camps are something on the todo list, currently none of them spawn. I need to make a special spawner for those or modify the existing spawner system. They should only be spawned on flat land.
Good idea with the smugglers one though, I'm sure its not too hard to make custom ones.

Put some camps in Trammel as well. That continent is still too barren and could use some unique spawns in certain areas. Since we are not an OSI clone, this should allow for some cool spawns.

Yeah I'd put them mostly all in trammel/fel, maybe some in ilsh/malas.

How are the T2A lands spawned? Are they barren or somewhat spawned?

Those are actually quite barren. In fel there are champ spawns so I would not add any more spawns, but in trammel there is nothing. That could be another place worth spawning.

Yeah... actually I've mentioned it to Bartok before about T2A, but it would be cool to that area (At least trammel) spawned like it should be.

I just had a totally random idea. Turn T2A into a giant landfill, whenever an item is put in a trash can, it ends up in some random location there, and will only decay later on. The ground does look like its a landfill lol. Need to spawn a bunch of poison animals such as west nile crows.

I think I would actually try to copy OSI for the T2A spawns. Those mobs are a bit tougher and are pretty fun to battle. The Terrathons and Ophidians are a decent challenge for warrior chars who are training up skills.
Perhaps several of the forst/ruins could be used for custom spawns to mix it up a bit.
Just my 2 coppers.

Hmm OSI has spawns there? Then yeah I could use those. Just have to find out what they are and aprox where they are.

Yeah I remember that little area at the top left of T2A that could only be reached by boat. I'd always go there to kill titans and cyclops. It was very similar to how a couple of the camps in Ilshenar are setup now.
Oh, and certain things like frenzied ostards would be found there.
Hmm... The undead city north of Delucia was actually an undead city.
Lots of wyvern, cyclops, titans, and other stuff in the north deserts.

I'm aware of the T2A thing and it's on my todo list. I got caught up in spawning brittania and all of trammel/felucca so you can imagine that's quite a task. Actually, T2A's smaller so I may take up that one
.
