*claps* Yay, it didn't explode :) Hopefully, they can make it back in one piece, too.. otherwise, I hope NASA blows up.

i wonder exactly where those fuel tanks go... *somewhere in the pacific ocean, a chinese man is fishing on a boat.* "khjbcjkabf!" translate: fish arent biting! *tank falls from sky, heads right for boat* "Oh, SH!T!!!" translate: oh sh!t! WWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! :domel:  :eek2:

Why is Chinese guy in the pacific?! Shouldn't he be in the Indian Ocean... WE'RE BEING INVADED!!! HURRY, DO NOT TELL BUSH!

But, yeah. The two rocket booster thingies break off and come back down to earth, but the giant orange-yellow fuel cell burns up in the atmosphere.

Now gas prices will skyrocket.

Red, keep a place open for me in Canada.. infact... After the shuttle comes back down, I'mma move to Canada, cause Bush'll shoot it down for being a terror threat. Then he'll claim he saw missles on it when it took off, and then he'll blow up EVERY state, except Texas. Texas is always better than the will of the people.

Anyways, the shuttle launch was good :D

I saw it! There were two hawks flying around it before it took off. And wow that thing can go fast.

It's about time! :D

Actually, I'm really looking forward to NASA retiring the shuttles, we need a new transport vehicle.

I was thinking a giant solonoid, but the problem is TOO MUCH speed. Would basically be 0-60,000 in seconds, too much impact for the shuttle and people inside, but if the concept is designed it could work well.

They said they found shuttle tiles on the ground (aka. debris) around the launch site. Meaning.. it'll explode coming back, most likely.

Yeah I heard that. Well the surface of the shuttle is suposely very fragile, but at high speeds sterofoam hurts, and can cause damage to the strong part as well. Freaky, really. Not sure why it's so fragile though, but it's a special sterofoam type material they have to use but you'd think they could cover it with something stronger like sheet metal. I guess it has to do with the atmosphere impact too, that material has to be the first thing that hits... I'm not a rocket scientist so I'll stop making assumptions on why it's made the way it is.

My solonoid idea would still be better though. :P *loud explosion, as my new invention completely fails badly*

Sheet metal would probably melt going through the atmosphere.

Debris came off after it launched, no where near the launch site. I think I heard it was foam from the big orange fuel tank.

people give NASA so much crap about stuff blowing up, but someday we'll probably be thanking them.

if you compare shuttle launches and landings to something like the beta test of a video game or windows XP  they have had a small amount of bugs

EDIT: fixed the smiley
