DENVER -- Craig Biggio's teammates weren't quite sure what to say to the 17-year veteran after he was hit by a Jason Jennings pitch in the fifth inning of Tuesday's game.
"I think they said, 'Should we congratulate you now?'" Biggio recalled. "I said, 'I don't know. I guess so, and I guess not." The plunking was the 267th of Biggio's career, which tied Don Baylor's all-time hit-by-pitch record. Although Hugie Jennings was hit 287 times during his Major League career from 1891-1918, Baylor's record was considered the "modern day" mark, and the one Major League Baseball recognized as official

Actually my hot digs comment was refering to how a player can be plunked so often. Being able to take one for the team so many times. How much longer until Jeter takes that record over. The guy friggin dives into balls.

Biggio is great, the killer B's were great. He's been accused of standing too close to the plate, but as long as he's not in the strike zone, it's all game.

I remember Mo Vaughn would almost have his elbow over the plate and would get hit and what might have been called a strike.
