Earwig massacre

I massacred a nest of earwigs near my front door. I'd had about 10+ earwigs I'd killed by my front door in the last couple days before going to look for where they were all coming from. I don't have any bugspray, so I decided, hell, my place needs to be vacuumed so I vacuumed every last one of them up, corpses and earwigs nest. To make sure I didn't have to deal with any of them again, I removed the dustbag and tossed in the trash, then tied the bag. It felt good killing every last one of them. Now I can relax in my living room without friggin earwigs appearing....

No go. They must have another nest somewhere outside. I found a bunch trying to get in so I vacuumed them up too. I'll have to hunt them down first light.

Yeah, well, if it ever got that bad, I'd move. The initial term of my lease is over so now it's month by month. I can jet in a jiffy if need be and leave the eradication to the management company. Thus far tonight, every time I get up and look at my front door, I've got about 5 of those damn things hanging around either on the floor or walls, or the door itself. If this nonsense keeps up, I'm just going to have to go to the store tonight soon, get some pesticide, and seriously find where the buggers are coming from. Dammit... I see another one on the door. Killing time....

I went and got some pesticide and sprayed along the doorway. Some more came in to get away from the poison only to die anyway. But since those few came in, I haven't seen any others. Hopefully, this means some peace and quiet!
Oh, and my past life was that of Aleister Crowley....

No matter how many times you kill them, more come back!

Stasi i remember awhile back we had those thousand leggers in my house. We'd just kill them as we saw them but someone told us about Boric Acid Powder which did the job. Just pour some down where you think there is a nest or where they could possibly put a nest. (behind the couch, under the sink, small cracks)

The problem we have here is ants. Anything bigger and my cat takes care of it.

Yeah, we've got fire ants
Army ants are the coolest though. I don't believe I've ever encountered and earwig, I don't think they are not very common here.

Ah yes, fire ants. I grew up in San Antonio... I have many fond memories of them, including my brother getting swarmed by them when he stood in the wrong spot in the yard while we were all playing on a Slip n' Slide.
But anyway, the bug spray around the doorway outside seems to have solved the problem. I just woke up and looked to see if there were any hanging around and there aren't any. Now I just have to do the back door. Why didn't I do this sooner???

Works. But for how long?
Our problem is red ants, the ones that smell funny when you squish them.

Well, according to the can, it has a residual effect of approximately four weeks. But oh well. Soon as they start coming in again, I'll just give it another dose.

Ladybugs smell funny when you squish them, and it's about that time of year my room gets infested with them again.

wow never thought lady bugs would be a problem, I only see them once here and there around here, same with most big bugs actually, only problematic ones here seem to be small ones that go in packs, like moskitoes, ants, flies.... oh man flies are fun, when they're down but still alive, my cat has so much fun with those, it's funny to watch her tap it with her paw, and bring it around with her mouth and drop it.

Get a cat, the cat won't really mass kill them, but at least it will be a source of entertainment to see it pushing those big bugs around.

That's what I like about here though, if we get bug problems and such, we just grab the sled, feed the dogs and go somewhere else and build a new igloo, all in a few hours.
