proposed change for demitels / recipe system

Here's what I'm thinking to do once ML peerless are fully done and recipes drop:


1: like crystal daemon starts off with 25 crystal elementals, then maybe 10 crystal dragons, then it spawns. Maybe more, we'd have to test.

2: Instead of them dropping the artifacts, they only drop a recipe to make them, they would not drop ingredients though, so you'd have to do ML peerless for those. Recipes will usually drop in the corpse, but for peerless I'd make an exception and make them go in the backpack like an arty.

I could also make them 1 time use recipes so its like getting an artifact except you need to take extra steps before using it. The chance of getting a particular one would be higher then with peerless though, as each boss has maybe 3 or so different recipe possibilities.


In fact now that I think of it I may add a uses field to recipes, even the peerless ones, I can limit them to like 5 uses. A use would only be deducted upon successful crafting.


Just wondering what everyone thinks of this. I was thinking of making demitels quest driven, but going this route will be much faster. What I just want to do is make them require more work then they currently do, as I want to make the ML artifacts viable as well and currently they are way harder to get.


Another thing, arties like ecru ring will be recipe driven here, except those particular recipes will be easier to get and unlimited use.

No objections here, but I may consider bringing peerless bosses down a bit so they don't take too long to do (Same with gathering resources). That way it's not a total pain to complete the quest then kill the boss. Also, peerless loot packs are quite packed full of goodness so they'll be worth doing (In most cases, however there is the rare chance that you get screwed for loot, but not too likely).

Agreed. It took four of us forever to bring down Dread Horn. Not to mention the hour and a half of killing changelings to get the last key. Anyways, Dread Horn wasn't super hard to kill, but the hit points just made killing it painstaking.

Yeah thats one thing I may change, make their base hp rather low, like 10k or 20k then have a formula based on the amount of people going in upon the actual summon.

What I'll do is bring down the key chances (Cause it truly sucks killing 17 irks and not getting the brain). As said before, the hp will be brought down on the peerless and be a dynamic value dependant on total number of people (So it may go up a bit more HP the more people are fighting).

yeah we might want to standardize the key chances on all mobs as well. Think the boss HPs are fine, as they are meant to take a long time (45 minutes is actually considered short on OSI). Though think I will setup the dynamic hp increase idea so a group of 2 people won't take like 2 hours.
