Hey, you know what would be really really cool? An ability to go into a trance and "become" your pet (see the world from their eyes and be able to control them as a player). The actual char would have to be somewhere closeby and would be in a trance, not being controlled by anything and basically just a sitting duck. If the player is killed, both the player and pet die. There could also be a timer, or it could use up the player's mana; when that is depleted the control link would stop.

I'm sure this would be way too hard to implement though... bummer.

I've thought of something like this. Would be a spell that allows you to possess a creature, so you actually control it. But yeah this would be very hard. Probably require a core edit to temporary swap the mobile attached to the network socket/session. Would be so fun though, cast the spell on a DF and just go out of gaunt and start pwning people in fel LOL. Could have like a 30 minute timer or if you die its over. During that time your char would either vanish or stay put and be killable.

lol morphers. Ya that would certainly be interesting. You could have it require 100 taming and 100 forensic eval to work. In order for it to work, you cannot have any control slots taken, but you can become a creature (Kind of like morphing into them). Then you would gain their strengths and weaknesses (Certain forms would not allow you to pvp in, but it would be neat for pvm). Could produce a timer dependant on your total animal taming and forensic eval for duration. You would also be permanently criminal while in that morphed form (So no towns).

Funny thing is, theres a spell on WoW that lets you do that. Allows you to check stuff arround without risking your own character. I couldnt imagine HOW that could be coded, though.

I like Bartok's idea about morphing. I'd say animal lore, forensic eval and anatomy though. Because those are the ones that would acutally let you know about the creature's body.

Well you use a variation of the polymorph spell of course. You would just need to incorporate time elapsed buffs that would increase your stats and skills to the level of whatever you are morphing into for the duration of the spell. It would be the same is doing a polymorph, casting spells like bless and strength, and then equiping some skill items all at the same time.

Rather than making the ability to change into anything at will though, I'd think for balance purposes, it would be better to make some kind of polymorph item that grants you the power of that creature or monster while wearing it.
