This was posted on another site, just curious what is everyone's thoughts on this.

I think the site is wrong in blaming the troops. Lot of the soldiers are there against their own will.

http://www.forsakethetroops.info

Site seems to go up and down, people must be DoSing it I'm sure.

Insticnt tells me that site is just set up to flame.

But if it's not, the person that runs it is an as$hole of the highest order. I'd love to see who he goes crying to if some terrorists were beating down his door.

EDIT: I think he has his address as some place in some sort of arena.

I'm pretty sure any letters sent to that suite wont get to him.
From his guestbook:
LOL...okay, idiot...apparently, you think you found something secret. It's on the homepage, and it's in the WHOIS database. But hey...if you think going to that address will get you the results you desire, you go right on ahead, but don't come crying to me when you get some unexpected consequences.

Look, I don't like the war, but that doesn't mean I don't realize what the troops are sacrificing to be over there, whether they want to or not.

And, yeah, don't count on any letters being sent to that suite to be read :P

The fact that the soldiers are so bloody sacred in this country somewhat bothers me, but you shouldn't blame them for Iraq, and considering how they are putting their lives on the line, I'd say they are underpaid, not overpaid, but again where should the money come from when this is a war a sizable portion of the country doesn't believe in. I'll say this though. I'll bet that more that far more soldiers than you realize absolutely love the fact that they can "kill them rag heads" and that bothers me. Stuff like abu ghraib bothers me. So I will say that not all soldiers should be free from blame, but the good people over there deserve all the support we can offer them.

Anyone notice that you can't sign the guestbook like on every other place? He's only going to put on the ones that think he's right.

Well I don't support the troops in Iraq and their mission, but this site is just disgusting.
-> He chose his path, and now we as a country have to pay his survivors benefits and pay for his burial, not to mention the fact that a chaplain still has to go out and tell the blubbering widow, which is another waste of resources, and that is just disgusting. He chose to join, and because of that, Forsake The Troops strongly feels that he should just be thrown in a ditch somewhere and left to rot. [/quote wrote: :james: Bastard!
Red I think you should also Dos them. Get this bastard shutdown!

<!--QuoteBegin-Red Squirrel] Lot of the soldiers are there against their own will.
Well since we military service is voluntary, they are there voluntarily. The thing is that most of them probably joined before the war, so they didn't realize what they were getting themselves into.

Yeah I should add them to my "to dos" list. I need to write a better DoSing tool though. Something sophisticated involving rewriting packets. <_>

Basically, you have 2 servers, send a "magic" packet and have both servers DoS themselves. LOL I should get into that more. All I need is 2 servers that I want to DoS such as that site, and a spam server.

And guess who played a huge role in giving you those two things? :hmmm:

Yeah that's the thing though, he technically has the right to have that site. Well in Canada pipeda would probably go against this since it's sort of like slander in a way, but I think the US doe snot have any type of program like pipeda so basically anything goes. Freedom of speech can be dangeraus though, for example, sites that show you how to build a bomb, and there's plenty of those.

True. Like for example if I go up to a black gang and say "I hate n*ggers", or if I sream fire in a crowded movie theatre. Yeah that would be dangerous. People have to know their limits if they know what's best for them. ;)

Well the guy is dead lol. But not sure how real this death is, maybe he's faking it, I don't know. But I believe it, since well, lot of people were pissed off, and he was stupid enough to put his physical address on there.

Really, even though I did not really like his way of talking about the US army, I also don't think it was right for someone to kill him. :o But he did ask for it I guess. And I'm just assuming it's true right now, it could be fake.

On Monday evening, the webmaster of Forsake The Troops was brutally assaulted by two men, thought to be members of the military, in response to their opinions about this website. Mr. Crook had been the target of numerous death threats and trespassers at his residence. All of these threats were saved and have been turned over to the authorities.
UPDATE:

At 6:19pm Eastern time, Michael Crook died of his injuries, after being rushed by ambulance to the leading hospital in the area for head trauma. The two men who allegedly assaulted him are currently in the custody of police. Mr. Crook died with his wife and infant daughter present.

It is therefore the decision of his family, and associates that Forsake The Troops goes offline, to prevent further incidents of violence and threats against his family. Therefore, this domain will permanantly go offline at around 5pm Eastern time, on Tuesday, May 17th, 2005.

Comments, and well-wishes may be addressed to condolences@michaelcrook.com. Media inquiries (no interviews with family at this time), or sincere inquiries from well-meaning people may be directed to (315) 295-2602.

Leave a voice mail message and your call will be returned by our media representative. The family requests privacy at this time.
