A new walmart got built here and opened yesterday. I finally went to it today to check it out, dispite my server being my main priority (almost done anyway). Holy crap it's HUGE! When pulling into the parking lot, it felt like we were in Toronto or something. And it's at an odd end of town which adds to the effect.
When looking up at the ceiling all you see is thousands of rows of neon lights that go to infinity. Ok, so I'm exagerating. But it's huge! (I would not be suprised if there's over 100 rows of lights though...) As a rough estimate I'd say the lights alone use up about 500 amps ...with a 80% error margin.
The electronic department is not as impressive as I hoped though, but it is bigger then the old walmart, and they might get more stuff with time, and it's not like we looked for anything specific. The deals are great too. I saw a 50 pack spindle of CDs for like 14 bucks! I should get one some time to do backups and stuff. I think that's actually cheaper then my suppliers, considering shipping and such.
I heard rumors this is curenctly the biggest Walmart in Canada, but I'm not sure if it's true or not. Maybe biggest in Ontario though.

Goddamn, how I hate Walmart
It's mostly how many sheep (i.e. people) they can flicking cram in there. Especially around Christmas, I love seeing the thousands of cars parked in front. I imagine Wal-Mart, thanks to cramming all those people in one space, is responsible for spreading many diseases, including the common flu, SARs and the black plague.

Hahaha. This was like Christmas, it was packed in there.
They should of opened it a week before Christmas. That would of been interesting.
No worse, open it boxing day.

They recently built a Super-Walmart two miles south of me. Now they are building one five miles north of me. Doesn't make much sense to me why they would have them so close this far out of the metro area.

It's because the first one is overflowing, brimming to the roof with old people crazy for deals; they bus all the overflow people to the second one, free of charge.

i think walmart is called asda in the uk
it is a cheap supermarket intent on swallowing every park, field and meadow in it's pursuit of asda world
it's also where chavs and thick people shop at because of it's large lettering and bright lights
