K, forget sports for a while and concentrate more in English.

You'll thank me later. <3

i was in wrestling for 13 years (seriously) (folkstyle and a tiny bit of freestyle) all i can say is hope you have a good coach, if it is anyhting like it is here in Iowa it's a big deal. Work hard and after each practice keep you and a buddy there, and do 10 good shots each, have your partner give you a good feel for what it'll be like in a match (in a good stance and whatnot) but have him let you do it. do that everyday after you practice with the team, if nothing else they'll respect you for working your butt off.

vary it up a bit too though, do shots one day, escapes, reversals, throws (if not folkstyle, if you're doing folkstyle you're best to stay away from throws), keep working, you'll get better.

lol...maybe it's just me, but the thought of tumbling around on a mat with a hot and sweaty guy who's putting his hands all over me doesn't sound so appealing.

Some notable quotes:

"...have your partner give you a good feel..."

"...if it's anything like it is here in Iowa it's...big..."

"...have him let you do it...do that everyday...with the team...they'll work your butt off."

I might have taken a bit of poetic license with that.

Speaking of "wrasslin", though...did anybody else have guys in your high school that were wrestlers and thought they could fight?

I did.

I swear, anybody that's ever taken like two lessons of Karate or wrestled for like one semester instantly thinks they can fight. Meanwhile, they try that crap in a fight and always get the snot beat out of them.

Random thoughts. Move along.

hahaha I had this grade 8 wanting to fight with me... when I was in grade 11. I just laughed in his face and kept walking, but slowed down which that alone scared him.

Yeah, when I was in high school for some reason all the wrestlers seemed to dislike me.

There was this one named Shannon (LOL...yes, a guy named Shannon!!) who was a wrestler guy...and he got pissed at me because I liked his sister and yadda yadda yadda.

Long story short, he thought he could kick my butt I guess because he wrestled? Meanwhile, back in 9th grade I was already about 6', 165lbs or so.

I actually tried walking away from him twice (he stopped me at my locker, pulled my shirt and wouldn't let me go) before I started beating his face in. :tongue2: He tried some of those silly "wrasslin" moves on me, too.

Good luck with that.
