I wouldn't narrow it down to just those two just yet. I'm sure you'll find other pollitcal parties out there that fit your views better than those two (for instance, libertarian or green party)

Both parties are full of… No, I want to keep my personal opinions out of this!
The best party changes from person to person because everyone has different political beliefs. You just have to look closely at what each party stands for. If you see a party (It’s very important to realise that there are
more than two.) that pretty much reflects your political beliefs, join it. If not, you don’t
have to have a party.

Perhaps in other countries, a plurality of parties makes a real difference, but in the United States, if you do not belong to one of the two major parties, then your party membership is just a political statement without the tangible benefit of any real effectiveness. (and everone knows Republicans are better then Democrats.

Like Grandma always told me. "They'll both stand in line to pound your butt so..."
Yea, it went something like that.
But seriously. Choosing a party is retarded. Look at each candidate/person and make a decision on who they are, what they stand for and if they are looking out for your best interest.
my 2 cents

So, looks like we all agree: Look at all the alternatives to the mainstream parties and realize, ultimately, irregardless of what party you choose, that Democrats are better than Republicans

Reminds me of when it was the elections here. When someone asked me who I voted for I said Liberal, then said "It does not matter anyway, they're all out to get our money"

I hope "none of the above" is an option. I think they're both evil, but Democrats may occasionally be the lesser of two evils.

Republicans are typically more fiscally responsible and level the playing field for individuals while democrates deal more with social issues and have a "the need of the many outway the needs of the one(thank you spock)" approach to government.

For all the talk the Dems put forth, there hasn't been a whole lot of realization. I don't see the power elite of the Party as substantially different from those in the Republican party. Why do people have feel like they need commit to one side or the other? Be an individual. Look at politicians, demagogues, and street activists with a critical eye, regardless the ideology, party, or cause they represent.

Agreed.
It bothers me when people blindly follow a party and don't think for themselves. There's a girl in a couple of my classes whom I swear has no actual brain, just a massive blob of Republican propaganda. Said girl was also quoted on occasion saying "President Bush is hot". So enough said.

President Bush? Hot?
That's ALMOST as rediculous as saying John Kerry is hot... almost...

Agreed. Anyone who can't see fundamental flaws in both mainstream parties automatically loses point with me.
